Root Canal Therapy

When the nerve of a tooth becomes infected or decay, it may be necessary to receive a root canal in order to restore your tooth. A compromised tooth may be extremely sensitive to temperature and pressure and cause intense pain. Some patients don’t experience any symptoms in the initial stages of infection or decay, but in the advanced stages, an abscess will form.

Dr. Stephenson may recommend a root canal for one of the following reasons:

  • Your tooth has received injury or trauma
  • The infection or abscess has developed inside the tooth or at the tip of the root
  • The tooth pulp has started to decay

A root canal restoration will usually last your entire life. It restores your mouth and tooth’s ability to function. Please give Rockpoint Dental a call to learn how restorative dentistry can give you the healthy smile you’ve always wanted.
